**Some notes on this business.**
I have spoken to two people mostly, Richard and Marc. My first contact with Richard seemed ok and they agreed to test the capacity of a couple of batteries. When I took two in I met with Mark who explained they would test the batteries by discharging and then charging and discharging to see what the capacity is after a full charge. This was late on a Friday. On Sunday I had a missed call to say the batteries were badly sulfated and what did I want to do about it. When I called back I spoke to Richard who didn't have exact details. I was bit put out by this and even more so once I understood he is the son of the guy I used to deal with when it was a small unit some 30 years ago.
I was concerned that the batteries, already poorly, had been left without recharging, and managed to get them on charge for £5 each and then another discharge for £5 each and then another charge for £5 each. So Monday I went in to discuss my concerns about the batteries, not the service, which I was disappointed with to say the least.
I saw Richard and tried to established an understanding to the problems with the batteries.
**18th Jan** Went to pick batteries up and it was a farce. OK I didn't take a hydrometer or voltmeter to test, but the looks I got when I said I wanted to test the specific gravity and could they bring me a hydrometer, to be told they didn't have one ??
Now the shit hits the fan.
1. The batteries were filthy I took the 3 x cell c lid off and the area under and around the holes was not just filthy but covered in fibres etc. I was too shocked to take a picture.
* Managed to get some paper towels to wipe only to find there was no acid covering the cells. So they charge and discharge the batteries twice for £30 and didn't top up the cells and left them open to a lot of dirt - maybe it was a windy day.
* When I asked for water, the first response was 'I don't think we have any'. This is the shop I bought 25Lt from a few months ago.
* Now for the great pile of crap. When Richard did turn up and started to add 'a little' water, after the third cell I has to stop him to say it look like dirty water. OK so then clean water was brought from a leaking 25LT container. I filled the remaining three cells and let quickly before my heart broke.
The results were that the batteries had 17% capacity when I brought them in and 23% after they recharged them. This led me to buy a Victron Connect cable so I could override the default bulk and abs settings
There's more to come, hang on I've got to catch my breath. Can't laugh, can't cry.
